Netmore Group, Cellnex UK, enhanced LoRaWAN coverage and smart approaches to both sustainability and modernized infrastructure, in tandem.
Let’s chat.
We featured Netmore Group a couple of times, recently — Yorkshire Water selected Netmore Group to exchange end-of-operational-life-status meters with 1.3 million new smart water meters in England’s Yorkshire region, then IoTech chose Netmore Group to deliver LoRaWAN connectivity to customers across Greece.
These decisions made good sense. Netmore Group, after all, is a dedicated IoT operator and all-around effective smart solutions provider that believes how, quote, “there has never been in a greater need of sustainable solutions than it is today.” Digitalization, in the eyes of Netmore Group’s experts, is clearly a huge part of the answer to the ongoing sustainability challenge; trustworthy, resource-efficient technologies that create significant impacts for businesses and society overall pave the way. That’s why Netmore Group has actively been implementing its future-proofed solutions across Europe to build what they hope becomes “the fastest-growing Pan-European LoRaWAN network” out there. They stress the importance of making the digitally powered protection of vital environmental resources a true economic imperative, which explains why the company is continually being picked to lead the charge.
And that’s where Cellnex UK comes in.
Cellnex UK is one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing independent owners and operators of wireless telecom infrastructure. Its business model is as much about innovating and connecting everyone, everywhere as it is deeply rooted in adhering to responsible environmental initiatives, sustainability-focused strategies, and ethical governance. (Browse their 2021-2025 ESG Master Plan here.)
So logically (and unsurprisingly), the two decided to partner up.
Partnership between Netmore Group and Cellnex UK bodes well for smarter (and more sustainable) infrastructure projects now and going forward. Netmore Group will install LoRaWAN gateways on Cellnex UK’s streetworks monopole infrastructure for the delivery of reliable coverage. A whopping 200 installation sites are being eyed to support Netmore Group’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) rollout for regional water utilities under the AMP8 regulatory framework. (Read our aforementioned stories regarding Netmore Group, Yorkshire Water and IoTech to learn more about the importance of this AMI.)
Furthermore, this Netmore Group-Cellnex UK partnership is supported by the latter’s sustainable asset-sharing model. This facilitates the co-location of operator equipment with thousands of sites available throughout the UK (and even ties back to the story concerning the Yorkshire Water project).
As detailed by Dominic Murphy, Director of International Network Delivery at Netmore Group:
“Cellnex UK’s innovative method of repurposing street fixtures for network deployment and densification brings substantial value to Netmore as we continually seek ways to lower network delivery costs while maintaining top-tier connectivity services for our customers. The cost efficiencies provided by Cellnex UK directly enhance the speed and scale at which we can integrate devices, such as smart water meters, into our network. We are excited to extend our partnership in this region and beyond.”
With efforts underway, we suspect Netmore Group — while still a big name in Europe — will continue to expand so it can address more opportunities on an even larger scale.
