New IoT Commercial Gateway Designed for Smart Spaces, Courtesy of Vantiva

Happy Hump Day, you lovely Smart City Sentinel readers.

Let’s talk about Vantiva, a company I’d also totally cover over on IoT Evolution World but am covering here for a specific reason, instead.

For context, Paris-headquartered Vantiva is a global technology provider that, in the company’s words, “is a leader in designing, developing and supplying innovative products and solutions that connect consumers around the world to the content and services they love – whether at home, at work or in other smart spaces.”

In that vein, Vantiva helps teams unlock greater value across distributed commercial sites (e.g. smart facilities, municipal properties, etc.) by integrating comprehensive IoT solutions; robust connectivity services, sensors that relay data on monitored spaces in real time, advanced analytics capabilities and more. This leads businesses towards a.) smarter investment protection, b.) improved efficiency and sustainability practices in tandem, and c.) intuitive smart ecosystem integrations that help future-proof spaces, as a whole. Learn more here.

That leads us to why we’re talking about Vantiva here, specifically:

Last week, Vantiva announced the official launch of the Vantiva IoT Commercial Gateway. This network infrastructure solution was designed specifically for smart spaces like self-storage facilities, multifamily housing, retail outlets, hotels and plenty more.

Here’s a long-story-short list of details:

  • Features wired WAN/LAN ports, tri-band Wi-Fi 6E support, and multiple software-programmable IoT radios

  • Also features an IP65-rated enclosure for operation in temperatures ranging from -40° F (-40° C) to 130° F (55° C)

  • Full Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) for reliable, long-distance building-to-building connectivity

  • Leverages EasyMesh v.R6 for scalable network deployment

  • Supports private and guest SSID networks

Another quick, helpful excerpt from Vantiva’s announcement describes how “the gateway’s signals travel long distances and penetrate steel, concrete and other traditional building materials, providing uninterrupted connectivity.” This can impact applications like access control, real-time monitoring, security, presence detection, smart thermostats, etc.

"As one of the world's largest gateway providers, Vantiva has the expertise to design a comprehensive commercial networking solution and the scale to offer it at a very accessible price point," explained Reza Raji, Senior Vice President of Smart Spaces IoT for Vantiva. "Compared to other commercial access points, the Vantiva IoT Commercial Gateway can reduce network infrastructure costs by 80%-90%, lowering the barrier to site upgrades and accelerating returns on technology investments."

Explore more connectivity-boosting products and services at the upcoming IoT Evolution Expo 2025, which will be taking place from February 11-13, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW experience, this event combines educational conference programming with a robust exhibit hall, networking events and other activities, bringing together buyers and providers of business technology products and services that are huge for IoT.
