A Bright, Sustainable Home Solution: Looking at AiDot's SL5 Smart Solar Spotlight

By Alex Passett

Let’s talk about AiDot.

AiDot is a smart home platform that – as one would reasonably expect – connects cross-brand devices and smart-enabled ecosystems. Making one’s home a safer and more simply organized connected space is a great initiative to take, and AiDot knows it. That’s why it’s present-day M.O. is to develop the future of smarter in-home technologies through sustainable solutions offered at affordable costs. (After all, you’ve got to be mindful of sustainability if your gaze is realistically on the future.)

So yeah, that’s the main gist to bear in mind. AiDot’s app and overall IoT platform – interconnectable with many smart home brands and sub-brands like Linkind, Syvio, MuJoy and plenty more – that promote the installation of finely tuned systems that create what AiDot defines as a “the smart living ecological experience.”

Last week, AiDot announced the release of a new product we wanted to spotlight for you, readers.

The Linkind SL5 Smart Solar Spotlight, to be precise.

Below are your need-to-knows. The SL5’s features and specs include the following:

  • Group control functionality without specific hub or wire prerequisites
  • Controllable via the AiDot app; temperature, brightness, on-off timing, etc.
  • Equipped with PET laminated 1.5W monocrystalline silicon solar panels
  • Sustains an energy conversion rate as high as 30%
  • 180-degree vertical/360-degree horizontal adjustability; optimal positioning for both solar collection and accent lighting
  • Standard Light Mode for continuous lighting for extended periods
  • Luminance Detection Mode that automatically activates at dusk
  • Motion Detection Mode, which is ideal for areas with frequent movement
  • Simple installation with either a wall mount or a ground insert
  • 43 color presets, with what AiDot defines as “16 million DIY colors options”
  • Waterproof Rating: IP65

Kevin Bright, Communications Director of AiDot (with a very fitting last name for a story like this, if we do say so ourselves), states that “no matter what you’re hosting or what outdoor work you’re conducting, our SL5’s dynamic lighting effects and sustainably smart features allow you to effortlessly create ideal task conditions and sensational ambiance alike.”
