Sustainable Digitalization of Residential Buildings: A New MCCI Partnership with Nordic Propeye

By Alex Passett

Yesterday, we covered the ins and outs of MCCI over on IoT Evolution.

Here’s a recap about the company:

Between 1995 and 2000, founder Terry Moore laid the groundwork for the current state of MCCI, a company that develops and licenses USB system software to be embedded into its customers’ consumer electronics products. In the 20+ years since its founding, nearly a billion total products have been shipped using MCCI technology, and some of the world’s largest manufacturers depend on the company to deliver software that is as fast and elegant as it is portable and scalable. (Currently, its software is deployed as part of Windows 10 for Raspberry Pi, in smartphones, LTE data cards, PCs, WiGig WSE docks, set-top boxes, car navigation and satellite systems, and various types of testing equipment.)

In our coverage, we also talked about MCCI’s new partnership with Milesight, provider of smart IoT and video surveillance products, as well as AI, 5G and LoRaWAN services.

That said, it seems like this could be a season of partnerships for MCCI, it has officially announced another partnership, one with a company that stands for smart, sustainable choices in helping its customer base make their real estate and condominiums “lean, clean and green,” as they put it.

We’re talking about Nordic Propeye.

At the end of 2021, two companies – Home Solutions and Talkpool IoT – came together to form the now-united team at Nordic Propeye. With expertise in the digitalization of residential building connectivity, Nordic Propeye has, per the company, “pioneered the Internet of Things industry with strong solutions in radio technology, running energy savings solutions on over one million m2.” By digitizing buildings, customers gain easy access to Nordic Propeye’s online portal, as well as its portfolio of cutting-edge sensor devices and smart meters, which can lead to cost savings and boosts to the reliability that tech users expect and deserve.

“60,000 apartments are already enjoying the advantages of our digitization solutions today,” said Boris de Bruin, Head of Marketing at Nordic Propeye. “Teaming up with MCCI provides us yet another excellent opportunity to expand the already-wide reach of our IoT solutions so we can introduce them to newer markets. Together, we aim to empower organizations and individuals with smartly connected devices that digitize buildings, save on resources and improve indoor climate to create a more sustainable future.”

MCCI is in the same boat as Nordic Propeye, enthusiasm-wise. “Our collaboration is a significant milestone in bringing the latest sustainable, digitized solutions to clients,” said Moore from MCCI.

Sustainable and transformative IoT systems that improve everyday live. That’s the goal as MCCI and Nordic Propeye embark on their new partnership.
