T-Mobile Driving Smart City and Factory Growth with New IoT Solutions

By Stefania Viscusi

To bring more smart capabilities to today’s cities and factories, T-Mobile has announced new Advanced Industry Solutions. The new suite of ready-to-deploy offerings provides the end-to-end connectivity, computing, devices, and applications needed to drive adoption in smart cities and autonomous factories.

T-Mobile is specifically targeting select industries, looking to help municipalities, retail, manufacturing, and logistics businesses gain access to smart solutions without the typical complex barriers to entry.

“We are on the precipice of billions of AI-powered devices, all connected by 5G with efficient application processors, all converging to provide intelligent data-driven insights. Technologies are pushing the limits of most companies’ IT organizations,” said Callie Field, President of T-Mobile Business Group. “hat’s why we’ve been working closely with many of these organizations to develop specific solutions that address their unique challenges,”

With economic uncertainties, strained supply chains, and tight margins, today's businesses are looking for new technologies to help them meet customer demands. With the new Advanced Industry Solutions, T-Mobile is offering industry-specific packages, sourcing and managing everything needed for speedy implementation. That means there are no longer siloed parts and pieces for building next-gen smart solutions or having to work with up to 10 or more vendors and partners.

In retail, for instance, that means setting up in-store and online tools to measure marketing efforts effectiveness, capturing foot traffic, uncovering peak hours, and more. Manufacturing plants can us heatmap activity tracking to optimize the plant layout, while AR can be used to improve employee training and safety. For logistics companies, where supply chain issues remain a challenge, these solutions can help with bottlenecks using connected vehicles, fleet management, asset monitoring, and more.

“Our Advanced Industry Solutions enable easier and simpler implementation — from vision to ROI — all backed by an ecosystem of world-class partners and America’s leading 5G network,” said Field.
