CalAmp Renews Contract with Caterpillar for 4G LTE Telematics

By Ken Briodagh

According to a recent announcement, CalAmp, a technology solutions company, is extending its relationship with Caterpillar to facilitate the company's continued expansion of connected assets, including the migration of several existing fleets to 4G LTE.

Partnerships, whether equal or in terms of clients and customers, or white-labeling, are, as we’ve said before, critical to the growth and success of the IoT as an industry and force of global change for the better. No company can provide everything needed for an IoT System of Systems, no matter if that’s within the Enterprise, IIoT or consumer IoT. It’s all too complex to be done well by any supplier. Therefore, partnerships are integral to the IoT, in whatever format they arise.

Under the reported terms of the agreement, CalAmp will continue to deliver 4G devices, including replacement devices, in order to accelerate the migration of Caterpillar's connected assets to more ubiquitous connectivity, including LTE, the companies said.

“We have helped many of our customers initiate major digital transformations including executing on 4G migration plans. Caterpillar is an incredibly important customer to CalAmp and we are thrilled to continue our relationship supporting their many construction and industrial customers,” said Arym Diamond, Chief Revenue Officer, CalAmp.
