The Intelligent Edge Takes Center Stage at IoT Evolution Expo 2020

By Ken Briodagh

IoT Evolution Expo 2020 is coming up fast, and we interviewed several of our speakers to get a bit of a preview of what to expect from their sessions.

Here, we spoke to one our featured Intelligent Edge panelists, Monali Shah, Strategic Business Executive at Google, who will be taking the stage on Tuesday Feb 11 in two panels in the Intelligent Edge track: “How Smart is the Edge” and “The Intelligent Edge of the Smart City.”

At IoT Evolution Expo 2020, which is taking place February 11 to 14 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Shah will look at how the IoT industry is defining and leveraging the Intelligent Edge, and how Smart Cities will use the Edge to create real results.

Here is a little preview of her thoughts:

IoT Evolution: What are some key ideas you plan to cover in your sessions?

Monali Shah: Re-imagine. Real-time. Real world.

Let's re-imagine the way we address challenges in leveraging real-time data, and with real-world solutions. Moving people effectively across cities is core to a well-functioning city. We will take a look at how we leverage cloud capabilities to power real time insights from vehicles, smart parking, intelligent traffic management and more.

IoTE: What insights do you hope attendees will take home?

MS: Start with a pressing business problem. Then look at how tech can enable you to solve it in a smarter way. Look outside your own industry to help shift your paradigm of what's possible.

IoTE: Can you identify a few important trends influencing your sector of the IoT which will shape the path of the industry?

MS: Making sense of new and more types of data to drive decisions in real-time.
