Huawei and Maxis Work Together on Malaysia's First TechCity

Huawei Technologies Malaysia and Maxis reportedly have joined together on a 5G TechCity in Malaysia.

“By working on the TechCity initiative together, we will be able to successfully create 5G solutions based on local demand and replicate them into global markets in the future. Huawei will support Malaysia in transforming from a technology adopter to a leader in 5G innovation and ecosystem development,” said Guo Ping, Rotating Chairman, Huawei Technologies.

Acoridng to a recent release, the two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Huawei Technologies’ headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The collaboration will explore a TechCity Program in Kuala Lumpur. Both companies will work together to deliver 4G and 5G capacity solutions for an unmatched personalized experience, innovation in 5G network design, deployment and operating efficiencies. The companies will also deliver the setup of a 5G Innovation Lab to develop and bring new 5G use cases for various industries to commercialization when the new 5G spectrum is made available. 

“With this TechCity collaboration, Maxis and Huawei are taking innovation to the next level by exploring new technologies to provide exceptional user experience and better network efficiency. Maxis has always been at the forefront of new technologies and we are excited about our involvement in this program, which we believe will unleash many opportunities that will benefit customers in the future,” said Gokhan Ogut, CEO, Maxis.
