SenRa and Bosch Partner To Bring Smart Homes, Buildings, Factories and Cities To India

By Juhi Fadia

As IoT innovation continues to flourish across India, two companies leading in connected products and secure networking today announced they are partnering to create end-to-end solutions for a range of IoT categories, from consumer to industrial.

SenRa, a PAN India Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LANs) provider for long range-based (LoRa-based) Internet of Things (IoT) applications, has been working with Bosch, one of the world’s largest suppliers of technology and services in the areas of Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology, integrating and testing their technologies on SenRa’s Ginjer platform.

Recently, Bosch has strengthened its smart solutions portfolio by leveraging localized engineering proficiency to enhance connectivity offerings. It tapped into SenRa’s expertise in connectivity services to rapidly and systematically deploy LoRaWAN solutions across many IoT segments, including Smart Cities, Industrial IoT, Smart Buildings and more.

“Bosch is one of the most innovative solution providers in the world and we are excited to have opportunity to collaborate with them to tackle some of India’s biggest challenges,” said SenRa’s CEO Ali Hosseini. “The growth of the LoRaWAN ecosystem in India is rapidly growing and having companies like Bosch in this ecosystem proves the strength of LoRaWAN.”

“Our association with SenRa will enable rapid and smooth adoption of connected solutions in India and help both companies in offering advanced solutions to Indian customers,” said, Mr. Guruprasad Mudlapur, Managing Director, Bosch Automotive Electronics India Pvt. Ltd.

Bosch’s Wireless Parking sensors are one of the first solutions being rolled out. These sensors detect and report parking space occupancy, thus enabling active parking lot management features, such as search, navigation and reservation. The embedded self-learning algorithm ensures high detection reliability during the whole sensor lifetime, which is prolonged by the use of LoRa’s low power consumption networking.

The two companies have been working very closely over the last few months to integrate Bosch solutions with SenRa’s LoRaWAN network and IoT platformand have already started planning go to market strategies to deploy end-to-end solutions across many verticals.

We will continue to follow and share the progress of this partnership as SenRa continues to light up more and more cities in India. SenRa announced reaching the fifty-city mark last month.

In India, Bosch set-up its manufacturing operation in 1951, which has grown over the years to include 18 manufacturing sites, and seven development and application centers. Bosch Group in India employs over 31,000 associates.

In India, Bosch has the largest development center outside Germany, for end to end engineering and technology solutions. The Bosch Group operates in India through twelve companies including Bosch Limited, Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Limited, Bosch Rexroth (India) Private Limited, Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Private Limited, Bosch Automotive Electronics India Private Limited, Bosch Electrical Drives India Private Limited, BSH Home Appliances Private Limited, ETAS Automotive India Private Limited, Robert Bosch Automotive Steering Private Limited, Automobility Services and Solutions Private Limited, Newtech Filter India Private Limited and MivinEngg.Technologies Private Limited.

The LoRaWAN standard is a low power, wide area networking (LPWAN) protocol designed to wirelessly connect battery operated ‘things’ to the internet in regional, national or global networks to deliver actionable data and improve efficiencies. It targets key Internet of Things (IoT) requirements such as bi-directional communication, end-to-end security, mobility and localization services.

IoT Evolution Expo, taking place February 11-14, 2020 in Ft. Lauderdale, will feature four days of content focusing on the value of IoT and how all parts of the IoT ecosystem can benefit and drive the market forward.  Part of the TechSuperShow, IoT Evolution features collocated events the Industrial IoT Conference, the Smart City Event, and the Intelligent Edge Expo, collectively offering a comprehensive experience for anyone looking to learn how IoT is creating new opportunities.
