Losant Webinar Drills into IoT Solutions for Logistical and Smart City Industries

By Ken Briodagh

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, (CVG) recently deployed a proof-of-concept IoT solution, which was provided by Losant, and designed to streamline operations and improve customer experience when travelling on the airport’s tram between terminals and the concourse. The proof-of-concept has been successful, and Stephen Saunders, Sr. Manager, Terminal Operations at CVG, and Brandon Cannaday, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, Losant, recently appeared on a webinar, hosted by IoT Evolution, to discuss the strategy and deployment.

The webinar, entitled “Brand Enhancement with IoT: A Real-World Use Case,” is still available to attend in archive. Click here to gain access.

The solution was designed to streamline reporting and operations of the intra-airport transportation system at CVG. With Losant, the CVG has been able to track its terminal trains that bring people from the terminal to the concourse between flights. In addition, the project gleaned some insights into the most common touch point for travelers in an airport: the restrooms. Expectations for cleanliness are high, which is why CVG also tested Losant’s IoT monitoring solution to identify inventory needs and peak activity periods.

“IoT is challenging, and business value is sometimes hard to identify,” said Cannaday “CVG’s POC-to-Production strategy has proved to be a successful technique that any organization can learn from.”
