Smart City: Brand Enhancement with IoT

By Ken Briodagh

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, (CVG) is using IoT strategy to enhance its brand, improve collaboration with its staff and improve travelers’ experiences. Of all the touch points in an airport, travelers are most likely to encounter the restrooms. Expectations for cleanliness are high, which is why CVG adopted an IoT strategy to monitor inventory and peak activity to provide the traveler with the best possible restroom experience.

The airport also targeted other key traveler experiences like the train that moves travelers from terminal to terminal. By implementing IoT technology in the train, the facility is able to communicate accurate train schedules to travelers, easing anxiety and improving the experience. This is just the beginning.
